Trusted Trades Corp ("Trusted Trades," "we," "us," or "our") operates thetrustedtrades.ca (the "Site"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect through the Site, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using the Site, you agree to the practices described below.
1. Information We Collect
We collect information in the following ways:
- Information you provide to us. When you submit our contact form, we collect your name, email address, phone number, the option you select for "I'm interested in," and any message you include. We use this information solely to respond to your inquiry.
- Publicly listed business information. Our Members directory displays business names, owner or contact names, service categories, phone numbers, and website links for Trusted Trades member businesses. This information is provided by members for the purpose of public display and referral, and is not treated as confidential.
- Automatically collected information. Like most websites, our hosting provider may automatically log basic technical information (such as browser type, device type, and pages visited) for security and site-performance purposes. We do not currently use cookies, analytics tools, or advertising trackers on this Site beyond what our hosting or email-delivery provider requires to operate.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Respond to inquiries submitted through the contact form;
- Connect prospective members or clients with the right Trusted Trades contact or chapter;
- Maintain and display the Members directory; and
- Maintain the security and proper functioning of the Site.
We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information collected through the contact form to third parties for marketing purposes.
3. How We Share Information
We may share information with:
- Service providers who help us operate the Site, such as our web hosting provider or an email-delivery service used to route contact form submissions;
- Trusted Trades chapter leadership or relevant member businesses, where your inquiry relates to a specific chapter, meeting, or member service; and
- Legal authorities, where required by law or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Trusted Trades, our members, or others.
4. Data Retention
We retain contact form submissions for as long as reasonably necessary to respond to your inquiry and for our internal record-keeping. Member directory information is retained for as long as a business remains a Trusted Trades member, and is removed or updated upon request.
5. Your Choices
You may contact us at any time to:
- Ask what information we hold about you;
- Request a correction to inaccurate information; or
- Request that we delete information you've submitted, where we are not required to retain it for legal or legitimate business purposes.
To make any of these requests, please reach out using the information in the "Contact Us" section below.
6. Children's Privacy
The Site is intended for business and homeowner inquiries and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
7. Links to Other Websites
Our Members directory links to third-party business websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those external sites, and we encourage you to review their own privacy policies.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal or operational reasons. Any updates will be posted on this page with a revised "Last updated" date.
